Effectiveness Of Anti-Sexual Video Campaign In Raising University Student Awareness Of Preventing Sexual Violence

The awareness of anti-sexual violence has been on the rise between university students. Along with the issuance of ministerial regulation on the prevention and handling of sexual violence in higher education, task forces in various universities have been actively campaigning against
sexual violence in a preventive manner through cross-platform media, including video. Regardless of the well-crafted message, no research has been actually comparing the effectiveness of the message based on the format of the medium: print, audio, and video. This study seeks to portray the difference in message effectiveness based on the medium by conducting an online experiment on 200 university students. Theoretically, this research is expected to contribute to the development of Narrative Transportation Theory by assessing it in the context of platform comparison and in the context of the sexual violence issue. Practically, this research might be beneficial for those actively campaigning for anti-sexual violence awareness.
