Repatriation and Quarantine Program Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the travel system worldwide and put the regulation for human isolation to control the spread of the virus. Some countries apply the preventive ways for travellers either from foreigners or domestic who come from another country to have mandatory quarantine for 7-10 days upon arrival in Indonesia. Since the government has few facilities to accommodate the program, hotels have started to offer their accommodation as quarantine facilities. According to that, repatriation and quarantine hotel employees experience a higher risk of infection while they host overseas guests. This study focuses on the psychological effects of operating the repatriation and quarantine programs in Indonesia. By evaluating this program, this study primarily focuses on hotel employees’ experiences and well-being during the guest isolation period as well as the management system to deal with complex circumstances. This study will conduct a quantitative method with open- ended questionsto investigate the hotel employees. This study contributesto hotel management study especially for human welfare in the pandemic era. Moreover, these findings potentially support the hotel management to get a holistic perspective of the essential aspect of hotel operations.
