The implementation of standard operating procedure among event's stakeholders in MICE industry in Indonesia during the pandemic of COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic hits the hospitality and tourism sector hard. Tourism managers are confronted with uncertainties amidst this environment to survive. This study explores the implementation of standard operating procedure among event’s stakeholders in MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) industry in Indonesia during the pandemic of COVID-19. This study lays the challenges being faced by these event stakeholders (managers/directors, project events and policymakers) that they used in order to survive. This study adopted qualitative research by using semi-structured interviews with 10 – 15 event stakeholders in Greater Jakarta. The findings display various challenges and strategiesconducted by event stakeholders to survive their businesses multiple cities. Potential future research is also discussed.
