DESIGN FOR HEALTH: A PRELIMINARY STUDY IN APPLYING INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE AND HUMAN- CENTERED DESIGN (HCD) CREATING DIGITAL APPLICATION TO PROMOTE HEALTH

Responding to the indigenous Dayak’s health issues in the heart of Borneo, this study
seeks to answer how cultural-indigenous knowledge can be integrated into the design health
promotion focusing on the HCD approach for indigenous Dayak communities, and what the
inferences are of doing so by employing a qualitative ethnographic approach that consists of
interviews and observation. This study aims to examine the intersection of indigenous
knowledge and HCD into a design prototype guidelines and outcomes.
